maxleo11.png  People who love cats will delight in the story of a beautiful feline who descended from the high  estate of a pedigreed Persian aristocrat to the life of a hunger-ridden alley cat until his adoption by the author. En route to Ashland, Oregon to assume a teaching post at the college there, the author lost Max Leo in the Oregon Desert and found him three weeks later with the help of an Oregon state trooper.

Cats and Dogs: Our Alter Ego is a wonderful collection of stories drawn from the experiences we have shared with the pets in our lives. Some of the stories are intensely sad; others express the pleasure we derive from loving our pets. Most of these stories have appeared in CATS & Kittens and DOG & Kennel magazines. The first two stories are set in Europe during the darkest days of World War II. Several reach back into the author’s childhood memories while others are “as told to” stories drawn from contemporary settings. All joyously celebrate the human-companion animal bond.

If you love cats or know someone who likes them, Castaway Cats might be the book for you or  that friend.

This book tells about a young woman’s experiences with stray cats who become part of her life merely by showing up on her doorstep. Others abandoned at clinics, and some from shelters, become part of her feline family. The adventures of sixteen cats and two very tolerant dogs are illustrated with forty black and white lithograph crayon sketches drawn from life.
